The Newly formed Virginians in July, 1969

The band was formed by Des and Johnny Kelly and was not related to later bands that used the same name.
Left to right: Mick Feeney (vocals), Hughie Ward (guitar), Basil Henriques (steel guitar), John O'Boyle (bass),
Jimmy Murray (guitar-RIP), Charlie Arkins (fiddle) and Mick Nash (drums).
Singer Dermot Henry from Ballymote would join the band in June, 1970.
