Paramount Showband (1960-1968)

Photo Gallery - Band Lineups - Discography - Audio samples - Where Are They Now?

The Story

The early days of the band are difficult to ascertain as there were two bands in 1960 that called themselves the Paramount Showband...one from Omagh called the "Platters Paramount Showband" and one from Tuam...the "Paramount Showband." The first reference to the Tuam-based band we could find was in late 1960. Early newspaper advertisements listed the boys as "Dixieland and Latin American Specialists." Early adverts also reported the band had five vocalists including Jimmy Eagleton and Tommy Ryan (an "International Singing Guitarist").
