Where Are They Now?
The Story
(This story has been researched
exclusively from newspaper report archives and we have done our best
to report as accurately as possible. If you have any info to add,

The first mention we can find of the San Antones Showband (also
often spelled Sanantones) is in August 1965 when they were playing
in the Swinford Town Hall. The band was often referred to as being
from Foxford, Co. Mayo or more exactly as Knockmore, about five
miles from the town.
In 1969 managed by Eddie Lavelle.
In 1972, Frank took over management of the new Talk of the Town
lounge bar in Bangor-Erris.
In November 1969, it appears the
band broke up as it was reported that Vin Brogan was joining a new
band called the Emeralds being formed by guitarist Johnny Gallagher.
At the same time, Sligo's Damien "Dee"
Leydon joined the band as its new lead singer. However, the band
would quickly reform as in January, 1970 they were back with Vin
Brogan as lead singer.
In March, 1971 the band signed
with Des Kelly Promotions with Jimmy Mulryan looking after the
band's affairs. However, by November, they had left and changed
managers.
