The first mention of a carnival in Ballinacarrow Carnival we could find was in early 1962 when the South Sligo United Coursing
Club and Carnival Committee put out as tender for catering for the event which was held in early September. The carnival
would be run jointly for several years. By the time the carnival held its final two week event it was advertised as being "in
aid of parochial funds" and came to a close in 1973.
