Castlebaldwin Carnival, Co. Sligo

The carnival held in Castlebaldwin was initially called the Ballyrush Monster Carnival and was held in Castlebaldwin.
We found a listing for the Ballyrush Carnival dance in August 1951, but it would the following year in 1952 when the event
became a fully fledge carnival. By 1957, the event had been renamed the Castlebaldwin Monster Carnival and been expanded from
a week to two weeks. The last reference we can find for the carnival was in 1964 after which we can only assume it stopped running.
