The Vampires circa 1968
Left to right:
Ken Ryan (drums), Paul Kavanagh (guitar), Mick
Roche (vocals), Tommy Moore (guitar),
and Mick O'Grady (RIP-bass). Tommy Moore is brother of the late Butch Moore.
Tony Kenny had fronted the Vampires from
1964 after leaving the Mexicans until
1967, when he was drafted by the newly formed
Sands Showband. Mick Roche stepped in
and was later replaced by Gary Kane when Mick left to join the
Arrows. The band split up around
1970.
Our thanks to Tom Foley for this info. Paul ended worked as the financial
director for CARA computers before retiring and is a
certified Tae Kwon Do master instructor - Ray Kavanagh, Paul's son.
