The Adelphi Ballroom "at the Demense" was opened on December 26th, 1962. Original reporting on the ballroom's
construction said it was different in that the dance floor was below the level of the surround seating areas. It was said the
building cost £35,000 to build (about €675,000 in 2020 Euro). 
 The Adelphi was converted to shops in the mid 1980's but still bears the same name.
