Star Ballroom, Cappamore, Co. Limerick

Opened on October 4th, 1955 by Patrick McCarthy, to the sounds of Johnny Butler and his band. 1200
patrons were reported to have filled the new ballroom which was about 5,000 square in total. The hall thrived for
the next 20 years but was first put up for sale in 1976. The ballroom was used for many years as a sports center for
the youth of the town but was again for sale in 1989 and purchased by the Cappamore Development organisation. It was totally
renovated and in 1994 the ballroom was opened as a new printing business.
